Wonka Movie BTS Set Video Reveals Timothée Chalamet & New Child Character

A new behind-the-scenes video from the set of the Wonka movie reveals Timothée Chalamet and a new child character. The 26-year-old actor is coming off an incredible year in which he starred in Wes Anderson’s ode to journalism, The French Dispatch, and two films nominated for Best Picture: Denis Villeneuve’s sci-fi epic, Dune, and Adam McKay’s climate crisis satire, Don’t Look Up. Since September 2021, Chalamet has been hard at work on the much-ballyhooed Willy Wonka prequel movie.

From Paddington director Paul King and writer Simon Farnaby, Wonka will serve as a prequel to Roald Dahl’s 1964 novel, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, which has been adapted into a feature film twice before – Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory in 1971 and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in 2005. The prequel film will follow Chalamet as a younger version of the eccentric chocolatier during the early days of his career as the iconic candy-maker. Wonka has also assembled an impressive supporting cast which includes recent-Oscar-darling Olivia Colman, Keegan Michael-Key, Sally Hawkins, and Rowan Atkinson.
