Transfer Portal Re-grades: Players who received a bump after new intel

The college football transfer portal has already soared past the 2,000-player mark this 2022 cycle. The 247Sports transfer rankings team has assigned ratings to about half of those players, with 380 players alone receiving a grade over 85. Eighty players have a grade over 90, making them a four-star prospect. Those ratings matter because 247Sports now ranks Team Transfer classes and incorporates transfers into Overall Team Rankings.

In a continued effort to strive for the most accurate ratings possible, the 247Sports transfer rankings council has used the last few weeks — as the portal has finally slowed down — to identify players who need rankings adjustments. Factors that went into this process include new intel (as transfers have enrolled) and more time to watch film and dig into advanced data.

The following list does not include every player who received an adjustment (there were roughly 40). Instead, it’s a look at the more notable names that are on the way up. There are several big-name programs represented including programs like Ohio State, LSU, Penn State, Michigan, Texas, and Oklahoma.
