One of the top remaining JUCO guards Sean East talks recruitment

One of the top JUCO guards in the country, Sean East is off to a great start this season with John A. Logan. Through fourteen games East is averaging 23.1 points, 5.4 rebounds and 5.5 assists while shooting 57% from the field and 43.6% from three. As far as recruitment goes, East is hearing from Cincinnati, Georgia, BYU, Texas A&M, Missouri, UMass, DePaul, UAB and other low to mid major programs.

“Most of these schools are giving me the same message, that they need a replacement guard to come in to play and contribute.”

East has been at UMass and Bradley before transferring to JUCO and is looking to use this experience to both grow him on and off the court.

“It helps a lot to be here,” he said. “I’m at JUCO so there’s not much to do so I’m just focussed and locked in and everybody is just trying to get one task done. With everybody focused it helps the coaches make things easier because there’s not a lot of distractions. I’m looking to continue to be a leader in all aspects on and off the court, keep winning games and showing I can lead a team to win.”
