Meredith’s backstory is complicated, as she didn’t have a good relationship with her mother, and joining Seattle Grace only added more drama to her life. Meredith has seen most of her close friends either leave Seattle or die, as Grey’s Anatomy has become infamous for killing some of its most beloved characters, and she has also been close to dying various times.
