One of 2020’s internet sensations in sports media has parlayed her success into a new role. Annie Agar announced on Twitter that she has accepted a position with Bally Sports as a national NFL and college football correspondent/host. Agar went viral on TikTok last year after she parodied the issues within Big Ten football in a viral video.
“I’m so incredibly thankful for all of you, and the kindness and support,” Agar tweeted. “I have accepted a full-time position at BallySports as a nationwide NFL/CFB correspondent and host, I’ll be moving to Chicago this summer! Thank you for laughing with me, let’s keep it going!”
Agar’s videos involve her wearing different outfits and playing separate team roles in each sketch. She has used the format for everything from NFL topics to sponsored posts promoting products. Our own Jason Barrett noted Agar in his yearly observations.
“The originality of Agar’s work got the attention of ESPN’s Sunday NFL Countdown producers and landed her an appearance on the show. If Agar was able to make this quickly of an impression on social media in 2020, I’m curious to see what she has in store for us in 2021,” Barrett wrote.
