Thor: Love & Thunder Secretly Retcons An Unseen Infinity War Tragedy

The Thor: Love and Thunder trailer secretly confirms another Thanos snap victim in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The Mad Titan used the six Infinity Stones to snap half of all life across the universe out of existence for five years at the end of Avengers: Infinity War. It proved to be a defining moment for the MCU in many ways, especially when Thor’s arc was taken into account. Thor not killing Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War before the snap happened proved to be incredibly traumatic, as he blamed himself for all of the snap victims that seemingly lost their lives before Avengers: Endgame brought them back.

After helping save the universe and bring back everyone who Thanos snapped away, Thor is going on a new journey in Thor: Love and Thunder. He’s left Earth and New Asgard behind to be with the Guardians of the Galaxy, but that will change once Gorr the God Butcher steps into the picture. Thor’s journey for peace will also see him reunite with Jane Foster for the first time since Thor: The Dark World. Her absence from the MCU in recent years has left Thor: Love and Thunder with plenty of room to explore what happened before Jane gains the power of Thor thanks to a reforged Mjolnir. And now it seems likely that Jane Foster was a Thanos snap victim.
