You would think the Suns could blow out tanking teams like the Oklahoma City Thunder and Cleveland Cavaliers, two teams with a combined 33% win percentage, but alas this is the NBA and those teams don’t always play down to their record. First the Thunder overcame a 19-point deficit to nearly tie the Suns in regulation, then the Cavaliers DID tie the game and force overtime.
But both times, the Suns came out ahead.
Tonight, the Suns allowed the Cavs to tie the game at 114-114 but then opened the overtime on a 15-0 run to (finally) blow it open and run their winning streak to 5 games. Mikal Bridges was a tidal wave all over the Cavaliers to start overtime with two blocks, a steal, two threes and just about anything else you can do well on the court. Oh, and the Suns run was capped by a reverse, two-hand jam on Jarrett Allen.
