The Lady Panthers didn’t give up a run in four innings Saturday against John Hardin, shutting out the visiting Lady Bulldogs 15-0.
Elizabethtown pitchers Kylie McKinney and Heidi Tipton held John Hardin hitless. McKinney opened the game and stayed in the circle through the first three innings, finishing her day with five strikeouts. Tipton came on for the top of the fourth, adding another strikeout.
At the plate, the Lady Panthers connected on 14 hits. McKinney, Emil Schmidt, Natalie Shaw, Avery Simpson and Kayla Braden all had two hits each. The team added 13 RBIs, with three each from Simpson and Avery Powers.
Mari-Beth Richards pitched the entire game for the Lady Bulldogs, finishing with two strikeouts, 14 hits, 15 runs and one walk.
Elizabethtown (12-8) hosts Washington County at 5:30 p.m. Monday. John Hardin (7-18) hosts Breckinridge County for a doubleheader Monday, with game times listed for 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
NORTH WINS TWO OVER CAVERNA. The Lady Trojans picked up a pair of road victories Saturday in a doubleheader with the Lady Colonels, taking the first game 15-0 and following up with a 19-2 victory.
