Oklahoma fires shot at Texas with hype video ahead of Red River Showdown

Oklahoma running back Kennedy Brooks dons a cowboy hat and drapes the Texas flag over his shoulders in Oklahoma Football’s new hype video ahead of the Red River Showdown. It’s a clear shot at Texas ahead of the 117th edition of one of the best rivalries in college football.

Oklahoma enters Saturday a perfect 5-0. They’re ranked No. 6 in the country. Despite the fact that they’ve looked a little shaky in wins over Tulane, Nebraska and West Virginia, the Sooners are very much still alive for a berth in the College Football Playoff.

“One of the best parts of this job is getting to coach, play, compete in this game,” Riley said on Tuesday. “When Bob (Stoops) hired me seven years ago now, it was one of the very first things that crossed my mind.” Texas checks in at No. 21 in the latest AP Top 25 rankings. The Longhorns have star running back Bijan Robinson and new coach Steve Sarkisian.

The storylines are endless. Riley and Sarkisian are two of the brightest offensive minds in college football. Oklahoma quarterback Spencer Rattler is still a Heisman Trophy contender. Robinson might go down as one of the best Texas running backs ever. He’s been the best tailback in college football this year.

“I think one thing Lincoln has done a couple of things: He has done a really good job over his career, most notably at his time at Oklahoma, I think that he does a good job of fitting his scheme to the players that he has, most notably the quarterback,” Sarkisian said.
