Hamilton High School music students were selected to the National Association for Music Education All-Northwest Music Groups and the Montana High School Association (MHSA) All-State Choir and Orchestra, 2021
Every other year the National Association for Music Education (NAfME) holds auditions for the All-Northwest Band, Choir and Orchestra. Students from around a six-state region, Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Wyoming and Montana, submit audition recordings in the fall and are chosen to participate in the honor groups in mid-February.
The best music students from around the region get to work with renowned guest clinicians from around the country for a two-day rehearsal gathering that culminates with the All-Northwest Concert. This year, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, students were chosen as honorary members of the All-Northwest Honor Groups since they could not meet in person.
HHS Junior Lauran Roberts made All-Northwest for her violin playing and said she felt honored to be chosen.
