Big Ten power rankings: Michigan, Ohio State end season on top following bowl season

Now that the Big Ten is officially done playing football for the 2021-22 season, the final power rankings are here. MIchigsn and Ohio State remained the best teams despite the Wolverines College Football Playoff loss and the Buckeyes impressive Rose Bowl victory. There were some small changes in the middle as well with a lot of conference representation in the postseason.

Some teams stayed right where they were at the end of the regular season since they did not play a bowl game. Teams like Rutgers had an opportunity to make some noise with its last-minute Gator Bowl invite but fell to Wake Forest.

Penn State had a rough time against Arkansas in the Outback Bowl while others like Michigan State, Purdue and Minnesota found success. Overall, it was a successful postseason for the conference.

The season mercifully came to an end for the Hoosiers, who finished at the bottom of the Big Ten in 2021. There were a lot of preseason expectations, but struggles, injuries and a tough schedule put them behind the eight-ball from the start.
