Army-Navy: CBS Sports drops tribute video ahead of rivalry clash

One of college football’s most-storied rivalry games kicks off Saturday when Army and Navy meet at Metlife Stadium. It is one of the coolest scenes in the sport, and CBS Sports produced a tribute video to get fans even more excited.

Army and Navy played 121 games in their history, and the Midshipmen own a 61-53-7 edge in the all-time series. Approaching the 122nd meeting between the two service academies, CBS Sports released a video honoring those who have played in this game and served their country.

The video shows moments from passed Army-Navy games while highlighting a number of participants on either side.

Part of what makes this game so fascinating to watch is how unique both offenses are. Days before the Army-Navy game, 247Sports’ Blake Brockermeyer wrote about what makes the Midshipmen so tough to stop.

“To the public eye, Navy should be relatively easy to slow down,” Brockermeyer wrote. “But these guys are well-coached (hat tip to Ken Niumatalolo) and execute to perfection. This is not something you just show up on Monday and game plan for like most teams on your schedule. you play your “normal defense,” you will get beat by 100 points.
