Music is again playing at the gazebo, but instead of downtown on the Courthouse Square, the concerts are at the Children’s Home Memorial Park on East Main Street.
The second of four summer concerts will be July 8, when Barefoot McCoy provides the music and Taquitos provides a food truck for the outdoor event, which is 6-9 p.m. at 745 East Main St., the former site of the Licking County Children’s Home.
The first concert was June 17, when Big Bad Stache performed and Poppy’s Roadside Diner supplied the food truck.
Licking County Commissioner Tim Bubb estimated about 125 people attended the initial concert, but he expects the events will increase in popularity, as the Mayor’s Concert Series did downtown.
“It was a pretty nice evening,” Bubb said. “A lot of people there were from the neighborhood and heard the music. People enjoyed it.”
Each of the concerts will be 6-9 p.m. on Thursdays. Open Highway will perform Aug. 19, when Havana Mia will provide the food. Drifter Kings will entertain for the finale on Sept. 16, when Poppy’s Roadside Diner returns. Visitors are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs to the concerts.
