LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) It was the first major election since President Biden took office.
So, a local political analyst says it’s considered a signal of what democrats might expect in the 2022 midterm elections.
Tim Dale says politics is much more complex that one party being blamed. Especially with Congress as divided as it is. “It doesn’t look like it’s on the horizon that parties are going to work together anytime soon,” according to Dale.
“We are certainly more polarized than we’ve been in awhile in terms of democrats being further to the left and republicans being further to the right. And I think it’s going to be candidates, probably, who are going to be able to lift their candidacy or their campaign above the fray who will be able to do better.”
“We would actually predict that people running for office who don’t have a lot of history in politics might do well in this election environment.”
Dale said, it will become a problem for democrats if they can’t come.
