Five Eddie Van Halen guitars the late musical legend played and designed are among the mementoes set to go up for sale for Julien’s Auctions this weekend.
The musical instruments from the Charvel EVH Art Series are inscribed with dates Van Halen had played them and include certificates of authenticity, according to Julien’s.
According to the auction service, the ‘guitars have a conservative estimate of $30,000 – $50,000’ apiece.
The auctions come about eight months after the death of the iconic rock star, who passed away October 6 at 65 after battling cancer.
In addition, a custom-designed Ludwig Drum Kit from Eddie’s brother Alex Van Halen will also be put on the block.
‘This kit from the 1980 Van Halen Invasion World Tour spent 5 years on display at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland,’ Alex said in a statement via the auction service.
The drum kit is ‘the only one like it in the world and I’m happy that 100% of the selling price will be going to charity via the Frangioni Foundation and Mr. Holland’s Opus,’ Alex said.
