‘Butter’ Stays at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for a 6th Consecutive Week

BTS released “Butter,” their second English-language single, on May 21. On July 6, Billboard announced that “Butter” has officially spent the first six weeks of its release at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. “Butter” is BTS’ fourth No. 1 song on the chart. Out of all of the band’s No. 1 hits, “Butter” has spent the most time at No. 1 on the Hot 100.

So far, BTS have had four songs reach No. 1 on the Hot 100: “Dynamite,” “Savage Love (Laxed – Siren Beat)” with Jawsh 685 and Jason Derulo, “Life Goes On,” and “Butter.” “Dynamite” is Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook’s first English-language single, and the song remained at No. 1 on the chart for three non-consecutive weeks.

After “Butter” stayed at No. 1 for four consecutive weeks, the song surpassed the success of “Dynamite” on the chart. When it spent six consecutive weeks at the top spot on the Hot 100, “Butter” became BTS’ most successful song in the U.S. Billboard reports that in its sixth week, “‘Butter,’ released on HYBE/BigHit Music/Columbia Records, drew 11 million U.S. streams, down 11%, and sold 153,600, up 20%, in the week ending July 1, according to MRC Data.
