Public Health offers COVID-19 testing, vaccination

The Clatsop County Public Health Department will offer COVID-19 vaccines and testing services at its Astoria office at 820 Exchange St. beginning Monday, July 12.

The department will offer the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines Mondays through Thursdays by appointment. Call (503) 325-8500 to schedule a shot.

Vaccines are available to individuals age 12 and up. Youths ages 12 to 17 will receive the Pfizer vaccine Youths 12 through 14 must present a consent form signed by a parent or guardian. In Oregon, individuals 15 and older can self-consent for health services including vaccinations.

Testing will be offered Mondays through Thursdays by appointment – call (503) 325-8500 to schedule a time. Individuals can expect to receive test results during their appointment.

The testing service involves the nasal swab test to detect active COVID-19 infections; it does not offer the antibody test. There is no out-of-pocket charge for testing; Public Health will bill insurance carriers for individuals with coverage.

The in-office testing is not open to people with COVID-19 symptoms, such as cough, fever and loss of taste or smell; if you have symptoms, contact your primary care provider.

The department will continue to offer drive-through testing Fridays between 10 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. at the Household Hazardous Waste facility at 1780 Williamsport Road in Astoria. No appointment is necessary for the drive-through testing. Go here for more information.
