Before we dig in, a mea culpa: this edition of Match Fitness is a doozy! Instead of hitting the cadence I’d intended of a column every two or three weeks, it’s been about a month and a half. With several Seattle Sounders and OL Reign games in that span, there’s a lot of ground to cover. I’ll do my best to keep it brief, while still making this worth your time. Just know that there’s a lot of style to address. Let’s get going!
There are some really fun/funny carpool buddies in the squad these days. Danny Leyva gets a ride to work from Raúl Ruidíaz, which I have to imagine is one of the most enjoyable commutes possible. Kelyn Rowe and Brad Smith are the other most notable tandem. They’re not quite an odd couple, but they are a funny pairing, at least when it comes to their style. Brad Smith is a big Designer Brand Dude. He loves labels like he loves his wife. In that first photo he’s rocking a Givenchy shirt.
