Debenhams Magasin du Nord acquired by German retailer Peek & Cloppenburg

The Danish department store chain Magasin du Nord, owned by Debenhams since 2009, was acquired by German fashion retailer Peek & Cloppenburg.

Magasin du Nord will continue to be an independent chain, joining Peak & Kloppenberg’s store estates, including approximately 140 P & C stores and Anson department stores in 15 countries.

“Like Peak & Kloppenberg, Magassin Dunor is a retailer with a long tradition,” said Peak & Kloppenberg KG’s management in a release. “We are confident that the dynamics of the current market will give us the opportunity to bring Magasin du Nord under our umbrella and both companies will benefit from this new partnership.”

The deal, Peak & Kloppenberg, said management would enter a new European market with “great potential.”

Founded in 1868, Magasin du Nord has seven stores and online stores in Copenhagen, Limby, Rødovre, Fields, Odense, Aarhus and Aalborg.

We offer a carefully selected assortment of clothing, accessories, beauty products, home decor, food and wine for women, men and children.
