Campaign event brought music to Charles Town’s West End

Elizabeth Ricketts, Candidate for City Council, held a candidate meet and greet event featuring live music at Evitts Run Park in Charles Town ahead of municipal elections. The event attracted nearly 50 people in person and over 100 viewers online.

The mosaics and waterfront at Evitts Run Park were the backdrop to an evening of live music and lively discussions as Elizabeth Ricketts, candidate for Charles Town City Council, met with members of the community to discuss issues ahead of the municipal elections. The event was open to the public and live streamed with 152 views on Facebook by the time of this release.

Live music was performed at the park pavilion by Olivia Ellen Lloyd, a native of Jefferson county who now resides in Brooklyn.

Ricketts was introduced to the crowd by current city councilor James Kratovil.

“I think there’s been a trend towards older men running the show. And I think the fact that a young vibrant lively woman wants to be on city council [to] do the hard work necessary… I think that’s going to put some brand new ideas in Charles Town,” said Kratovil during his introduction.
