Adam Driver Skipped House Of Gucci Wrap Party Because He Wanted To Go Home

Adam Driver skipped House of Gucci‘s wrap party because he really just wanted to go home. The Marine turned actor first rose to prominence for his supporting role in HBO’s comedy-drama series Girls alongside Lena Dunham. He then quickly transitioned to supporting roles in films from talented auteurs like Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln, Noah Baumbach’s Frances Ha, and the Coen Brothers’ Inside Llewyn Davis, though he didn’t reach the level of stardom he is at today until his portrayal of the Star Wars sequel trilogy villain Ben Solo/Kylo Ren.

More recently, Driver has starred in a pair of Ridley Scott films, The Last Duel and House of Gucci, the former bombing badly at the box office which its ornery director blames on cell-phone obsessed millennials. House of Gucci fared much better with audiences, grossing about $170 million at the box office, a significant haul for the pandemic era. In House of Gucci, Driver stars as the head of the Gucci fashion house, Maurizio Gucci, whose assassination is arranged by his ex-wife, Patrizia Reggiani (Lady Gaga), in hopes of her seizing control of the iconic Italian fashion brand.
